3 Heroes For Team India in 2nd Test Match Versus South Africa At Newlands in Cape Town

SA Vs IND: The Men in Blue have levelled the two-match series of the red ball format yesterday at Newlands in Cape Town. By doing so, Rohit Sharma has also won the first ever Test match at that venue and Sharma ji has also joined MS Dhoni as the Indian Team’s skipper who has levelled the series of the longest format in the Proteas Nation.

SA Vs IND: The 2nd Test match between SA Vs IND was dominated by the bowlers from day one. Two of the Indian bowlers picked up a six wicket haul and none of the Indian batters could even score a half-century at Newlands in Cape Town.

Aiden Markram was the only batter from the home side to score a magical ton in the second innings of the 2nd red ball match. However, in the first innings, the Proteas were bundled out for just 55 runs. The visitors, India, also had a collapse when they batted in their 1st innings.

The Men in Blue were decently placed at 153 runs for the loss of 4 wickets before tea. But in the last session of day 1, the Indian batsmen couldn’t add a single run to the scoreboard and they were all out for that same score of 153 runs. Lungi Ngidi was the one who triggered the collapse as he picked up three scalps in one over.

On the first day itself, 23 wickets fell and the whole Test match of five days ended in one and a half days. India won their first-ever red ball game at Newlands in Cape Town.

Rohit Sharma and Mahendra Singh Dhoni are the only two Indian skippers who have levelled the Test match series on South African soil.

The King of International Cricket and the Indian Premier League, Virat Kohli batted well in this series. He scored 46 runs in the second red ball match of this series and that knock was the highest individual score in that whole Test match for India.

King Kohli is also the highest run getter in this two-match Test series. In 2 matches and four innings, Virat has amassed 172 runs with one half-century. KL Rahul was the only Indian to score a ton from Team India in this two match series.

3. Jasprit Bumrah

Boom Boom Bumrah is another bowler who did extremely well in the second Test match. He also picked up a six-wicket haul in the second innings for the Men in Blue. His six-fer ensured that India didn’t get sniff score to chase down in their last innings. Jasprit picked up 12 wickets from just 2 matches and four innings.

He also picked up 1 four-wicket haul which was in the first Test match in Centurion which the visitors lost and one five-wicket haul in the second Test match that India won in Cape Town.

Bumrah also has the most five-wicket haul in South Africa in Tests. He had picked up his 3rd five-wicket haul in the 2nd innings of the last red ball match. His match figures were 6 wickets for 61 runs from 13.5 overs.
