People associated with the medical profession are given the status of God. They also have the responsibility to save the lives of people who have done wrong. A unique example of this has come from Ahmedabad in Gujarat, where doctors treated the accused in the 2008 bomb blasts (2008 Ahmedabad blasts) by treating them for 46 days after being found corona-infected. The treatment took place in the same city hospital where the accused was involved in the blast.

Mohammad Habib Fallahi was treated by Covid-19 in the facility of City Hospital, which is just a short distance from the Old Trauma Center. There was a bomb blast here 12 years ago. Falahi is among the 78 accused in the bomb blast at the Civil Hospital, which is undergoing trial. On July 26, 2008, there were a series of bomb blasts in Ahmedabad. The blast at the hospital campus was involved in the first terrorist attacks here. Many people were killed in the serial blast.

Discharged After Recovery And Sent To Jail

Falahi was discharged and sent to Sabarmati jail on Thursday evening, where he has been imprisoned for the last 12 years. He was admitted to the COVID ward on June 1 after showing symptoms of fever and cough. Hospital authorities described him as having a corona infection and also said that recovery would take time due to high blood pressure. He was also shifted to the ICU due to shortness of breath.

Brother Went to a Special Court For Hospital Report

After receiving news of Falahi's illness, his brother Abu Aamir, from Azamgarh in Uttar Pradesh, said: "I did not receive my brother's report on Friday. When asked, I was told that he had been discharged. After being admitted to the COVID ward, I went to the special court hearing the blast case, from where the hospital was instructed to release the report of Falahi.

Aamir used to talk to his brother Falahi through a video conferencing facility built outside the ward. But in the last week of June, he was again moved to court after the hospital refused to let him go to the facility. He said: 'My brother's condition was getting worse and was put on oxygen again. On getting no information, I was forced to go to court, from where instructions were issued to the hospital.

The terror attack accused on the Civil Hospital Campus is reluctant to come for treatment. In August 2019 also, an accused named Ismail Mansuri was to be admitted but appealed to the court fearing discrimination from doctors. A special court later ordered the accused to be kept in a CCTV room with videography of treatment.
