Jaipur: The energetic youth, who became voters for the first time were enthusiastic to their core in giving their contribution to select the State government.
The percentage of first-time voters was high in the assembly election of 2023. About 75.34 percent of voters who fall under the age bracket of 18 to 19 years cast their votes.
At the same time, zeal was also seen among the youth of the age group from 20 to 25 years. The zeal of this age group was less than in comparison to the first-time voters as only 69.58 percent of the youth of this age cast their votes.
Likewise, the senior class people who are above 80, were also seen showing enthusiasm to cast a vote for this assembly election.
According to the Election Commission Data (ECI), a total of 68.75 percent of voters from the senior class above the age of 80 cast their votes.
If we look at the specific figures then the number of first-time voters across the State is 22,61,008. The number of voters who were in the age bracket of above 80 years was 8,02,643.
The state’s capital remained on top of the list as the number of first-time voters was highest in Jaipur with a massive count of 1,71,921, but Jaisalmer was seen to be at the forefront of the entire state in this type of voting.
Here 87.93% of first-time voters put forth their franchise. Bundi and Chittor were the districts where first-time voters came out to cast their votes.
