Rajasthan Elections 2023: Big news for the 2023 Assembly Elections has arrived. The BJP has just issued its first list of candidates which seems to experiment with the existing formula of ticket distribution in the state.
In its first list, the party fielded seven of its MPs including former Union Minister and MP Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, Diya Kumari, Baba Balaknath, Narendra Kumar, Kirori Lal Meena, Bhagirath Chaudhary, and Devji Patel in the upcoming assembly elections.
However, Vasundhara Raje Scindia's name not being included in the first list of BJP has raised several speculations in politics. In addition to this, two of her loyal political mates, Rajpal Singh Shekhawat and Narpat Singh Rajvi were denied a ticket from Jhotwara and Vidyadhar Nagar respectively.
Surprisingly, it may be true that the BJP does not want to let the Rajasthan elections be contested between Ashok Gehlot and Vasundhara Raje which is why Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself took the lead to strengthen the BJP's support base in the state.
BJP wants to turn this election into a Modi vs Gehlot strife. Several state leaders, citing this strategy of the party, have been advising the high command to get Vasundhara Raje Scindia into national politics.
Entering national politics now would mean that Vasundhara would not be able to contest the assembly elections. But, some BJP sources say that the party may not have clarified the role of Vasundhara but the decision of whether to contest the MLA election or not is left to her.
In such a situation, it is believed that Vasundhara Raje Scindia's name is certain to be in the upcoming lists of BJP candidates for Rajasthan.
Looking at the vote statistics, Vasundhara Raje Scindia, the current national vice president of BJP and the former Chief Minister of Rajasthan, has won the elections from the Jhalrapatan assembly of the state four times in a row from 2003 till date.
