In a significant development, the Maharashtra government has heightened security measures for Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan.
The government has now granted him Y+ security cover. This decision comes in response to perceived threats to the actor's safety following the immense success of his recent films in 2023.
Shah Rukh Khan, often referred to as the "King of Bollywood," achieved remarkable success at the box office with his films "Pathaan" and "Jawan" this year.
In light of his soaring popularity, there were reports of threats to his life, prompting him to file a written complaint with the state government.
In response to Shah Rukh Khan's concerns, the Maharashtra government has decided to upgrade his security arrangements.
The order includes assigning IG VIP security personnel for his protection. It is worth noting that Shah Rukh Khan will bear the expenses for this enhanced security himself.
Furthermore, Shah Rukh Khan will now be accompanied by a team of six police commandos at all times.
Security personnel will be stationed outside his residence as well as accompanying him wherever he goes, ensuring his safety.
This move follows a similar security enhancement for other Bollywood celebrities such as Salman Khan and Kangana Ranaut, both of whom were provided with Y+ security cover in the past.
Shah Rukh Khan's recent film releases, "Pathaan" and "Jawan," have witnessed tremendous success at the box office, amassing record-breaking earnings.
As anticipation builds for his third release of the year, "Dunki," set to hit theaters in December, it is expected to create yet another cinematic spectacle and further elevate his star status in 2023.
