A case of cyber fraud attempt has come to the fore in the name of Topper IAS Tina Dabi, Collector of Jaisalmer, Rajasthan.
Amazon gift cards were sought from a state government official through WhatsApp by putting a photo of the DM.
The police have arrested the accused in this case from Dungarpur.
In fact, on Monday evening, from a WhatsApp number (8320082043), UIT Secretary (RAS) Sunita Choudhary received a message asking for Amazon gift cards. Collector Tina Dabi's DP was used on this number.
UIT Secretary Sunita Chaudhary said that I got a message in English in the name of Collector Tina Dabi and asked about Amazon gift cards. Seeing the message, I was convinced that maybe madam will have some work.
But I don't use Amazon, so it didn't work. Then when I called the collector madam, she refused to send any message.
Then it came to know that there was an attempt of cyber fraud.
On the other hand, District Collector Tina Dabi told that when she got information about this, seeing the seriousness of the matter, informed SP Bhanwar Singh Nathawat.
SP Jaisalmer traced the number and found it in Dungarpur. SP Jaisalmer informed SP of Dungarpur about the incident.
SP Nathawat said that a youth has been detained and he is being questioned. Also, the matter is being investigated how did the number of the UIT secretary come to the accused.
At the same time, Collector Tina Dabi appealed to the people and said that she has only one official number, so people should be careful.
Significantly, Collector Tina Dabi is very active on social media sites. Especially on the social site Instagram, she has 1.6 million followers.
