Rajasthan Government in Trouble: Rahul Gandhi is on ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ and here in Rajasthan, the Congress has reached the verge of breaking up. It has reached the extent that the Rajasthan Congress MLAs have blown to pieces of discipline and character in the Congress.
The strategy adopted by the Congress High Command to change the leadership in Rajasthan shows that the top leadership of the Congress does not want to improve even after historical mistakes, nor does it want to take lessons from the working style of the BJP.
Now take an example of Uttarakhand that BJP replaced Trivendra Singh Rawat with Tirath Singh Rawat as Chief Minister and then Pushkar Dhami. BJP came to power under Dhami's leadership but lost the election itself.
BJP again made the defeated MLA Dhami the Chief Minister. In Uttarakhand, none of the six former chief ministers of the BJP even once asked the BJP high command why the defeated leader was being made the chief minister.
In Gujarat, Anandiben Patel was made the Chief Minister, later Vijay Rupani became the Chief Minister in place of Anandiben Patel.
In September last year, the BJP changed the entire cabinet with the replacement of Vijay Rupani and Bhupendrabhai Patel as the chief minister of Gujarat. Not even a voice came out of the mouth of the removed Chief Minister Vijay Rupani and his entire cabinet.
Similarly, changing the chief minister in Karnataka, BJP replaced BS Yediyurappa, a senior BJP leader from the Lingayat community, with another Lingayat leader Basavaraj S Bommai as the chief minister of Karnataka who had switched from Congress to BJP. But the voices of rebellion were not heard anywhere in Karnataka BJP.
Just three months ago, in Maharashtra, Eknath Shinde was made the Chief Minister and former Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis was the Deputy Chief Minister.
Fadnavis did not say why did not make me the Chief Minister even after having 105 MLAs and why Eknath Shinde, who has the support of 45 MLAs, was made the Chief Minister.
Like a disciplined party worker, Devendra Fadnavis quietly took oath as the Deputy Chief Minister and got to work.
But if we look at the Congress, Rahul Gandhi, his mother Sonia Gandhi and his sister Priyanka Gandhi are active in politics together, even after that the hold of the Gandhi family on the party seems very weak.
All three look helpless in the face of internal factionalism. As a result of this, Congress is as weak as it is today in the country, it was never more weak than this. This family trio is continuously losing its hold on the party and influence in the public.
But it is surprising that amid the ever-increasing geographical shrinkage of the Congress, Sonia and Rahul are unable to do anything to reduce the factionalism within the Congress.
As of now, Congress is in power in only two states of Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh. Two other states, Bihar and Jharkhand, are junior partners in ruling coalitions.
A healthy Congress is very important for the healthy democracy of the country. But to be healthy, Congress has to get rid of the corruption and dynasty that has engulfed its body.
In Rajasthan, the differences between Sachin Pilot and Ashok Gehlot have once again come to the fore, due to which the Congress has been divided into two factions in Rajasthan. After this tussle of the Congress in Rajasthan, the top leadership of the party seems to be helpless.
The struggle for power in Punjab, the rebellion of Amarinder and the loss of power in Punjab is not old story.
The party has also witnessed widespread defection in Telangana, Manipur and Goa, where it is not in power, and the party's legislators have switched over to the BJP and other parties.
The Congress high command did not take any initiative to stop them and bring them back to the party.
