Gold-Silver Price Today 12 August: The price of gold in India on MCX stood at 46342 per 10 grams, with a change of Rs 9.3. Also, the price of 24k gold in the Indian spot market is 46280 per 10 grams.
There has been no change in gold prices since yesterday due to spot demand. Today, the price of gold is Rs 46,280 per 10 grams in the local futures market. However, there has been a jump of 0.18 percent in global gold prices. On the other hand, there has been a decline in the prices of silver. Silver fell 0.06 percent to $25.2 per troy ounce. On MCX, the price of gold in India was 46342 per 10 grams, with a change of Rs 9.3. Also, the price of 24k gold in the Indian spot market is 46280 per 10 grams.
Gained 17 paise against the dollar
In the foreign exchange market, the rupee gained 17 paise to 74.27 per dollar in early trade on Thursday. The sentiment in the rupee strengthened on the back of a rally in the domestic equity markets and a weak trend in the US currency. Apart from this, net inflows of foreign investment also benefitted the domestic currency, said, forex traders. After opening at 74.26 per dollar in the beginning, the rupee came down to 74.27 per dollar. This is an increase of 17 paise over Wednesday’s closing level. The rupee had closed at 74.44 per dollar on Wednesday.
On the domestic stock market front, the BSE Sensex was trading 160.60 points or 0.29 percent higher at 54,686.53, while the broader NSE Nifty was trading 45.45 points or 0.28 percent higher at 16,327.70. Meanwhile, the dollar index, which shows the trend of the US currency against the six currencies, was down 0.05 percent at 92.87. Global benchmark Brent crude oil was trading 0.04 percent higher at 71.47 per dollar.
