
Former Law Minister Shanti Bhushan Death: The Country's senior lawyer and former law minister Shanti Bhushan has passed away.
He was 97 years old and was ailing for a long time. He breathed his last at his home in Delhi on Tuesday i.e. Jan 31 evening.
Shanti Bhushan was the Law Minister of India from 1977 to 1979 in the government of Morarji Desai.
Shanti Bhushan was also recognized as a well-known lawyer in the country. He practised law for more than 5 decades and fought many big cases.
PM Narendra Modi has condoled the death of former Law Minister and senior advocate Shanti Bhushan.
Apart from Prime Minister Modi, other leaders including Law Minister Kiren Rijiju also condoled the death of Shanti Bhushan.
Law Minister Kiren Rijiju tweeted that he was deeply saddened to hear the news that former Union Law and Justice Minister Shanti Bhushan ji is no more.

Shanti Bhushan is survived by his sons Prashant Bhushan and Jayant Bhushan and daughters Shalini Gupta and Shefali Bhushan.
Both Prashant Bhushan and Jayant Bhushan are renowned lawyers in the country.
Shanti Bhushan was born in 1925 in UP's Bijnor. Shanti Bhushan's childhood was spent in Bijnor, then he came to Prayagraj. He practiced in the Allahabad High Court for a long time. After that he came to Delhi.
Shanti Bhushan remained active in politics as well. Bhushan started politics with the Congress (O) party.
Shanti Bhushan also remained in the Bharatiya Janata Party for a long time.
He was also a Rajya Sabha MP and Law Minister. He also played an active role in many movements including the 'Anna Andolan'.
