Udhayanidhi, who had previously made controversial statements about Hinduism and Sanatana Dharma, could face backlash for this latest comment. The BJP had already criticized him for his previous remarks regarding Sanatana Dharma.

Sanatana Dharma Controversy: Udhayanidhi Attended the Family Wedding of DMK MLA

Udhayanidhi attended the family wedding of DMK MLA Saba Rajendran in Neyveli, Kudalur district. During his address at the event, he not only targeted the BJP but also took a swipe at its ally, the AIADMK.

Udhayanidhi likened the AIADMK to the rubbish that provides shelter to snakes.

He stated that clearing both the BJP and AIADMK from the state is necessary, comparing it to clearing the rubbish to keep the poisonous snake away.

These comments by Udhayanidhi Stalin have the potential to spark controversy and further intensify the political discourse in Tamil Nadu.

Sanatana Dharma Controversy: CM MK Stalin Also Joined the Wedding via Video Conference

Tamil Nadu's Sports Minister, Udhayanidhi, remarked, "When a snake emerges from the garbage and enters our home, it becomes a threat. If we want to eliminate the snake, we must ensure there is no garbage left behind. Therefore, people should prepare to remove both the BJP and AIADMK from Tamil Nadu in 2024."

During the same event, Chief Minister MK Stalin also joined via video conference from Delhi. He emphasized the need for the DMK to win on all 40 seats in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

The Chief Minister further stated that only then can they play a prominent role in the new government.

Udhayanidhi's Statement on Sanatana Dharma

Meanwhile, in response to the BJP's criticism of his remarks on Sanatana Dharma, Udhayanidhi has used an image on the social media platform X.

He shared a picture of a mosquito-repellent coil. This picture is pointing towards his statement in which he compared Sanatana Dharma with diseases like dengue and malaria.

This statement garnered disapproval from several BJP leaders and religious figures.

Udhayanidhi had previously stated, "Some things cannot be opposed; they can only be eliminated. We cannot oppose dengue, mosquitoes, malaria, or even COVID-19. We have to eradicate them. Similarly, we need to eliminate Sanatana Dharma."
