
Rahul Gandhi vacated the residence on 12, Tughlak Lane in Delhi on April 22, 2023, after a span of 19 years. During this time, he mentioned that he is ready to pay any price for the truth and is always prepared for it.
He also remarked that the people had given him the house, but it was taken away. A day after Rahul Gandhi was reinstated as a Member of Parliament, he has been allotted his former official residence.
The Housing Committee has granted him the residence on 12, Tughlak Lane in Delhi. Upon receiving the residence, he stated, "My home is all of India."
The Supreme Court had earlier imposed a stay on the proceedings in the defamation case related to the 'Modi surname' against Rahul Gandhi on Friday (August 4).
Following this development, Rahul Gandhi's parliamentary membership was reinstated. Subsequently, he has now been allotted his residence once again.
Rahul Gandhi was sentenced to a two-year prison term by a Surat court in Gujarat on March 23 in connection with the 'Modi surname' defamation case.
As a result, his parliamentary membership was revoked by the Lok Sabha Secretariat.
A notice was also issued to vacate the government bungalow he was residing in.
