Noida Supertech Twin Towers Demolition: Supertech's Twin Towers were demolished in Noida today Aug 28 at 2.30 pm. A plume of heavy smoke rose after the explosion and the day became dark.

More than 3700 kg of explosives were used to demolish these buildings 100 meters taller than Qutub Minar in Delhi. The administration had made elaborate arrangements to deal with any emergency after the blast.

Noida CEO Ritu Maheshwari said that there has been no major damage to the adjoining housing societies.

About 650 policemen were deployed on the spot

About 650 policemen, 100 Reserve Force personnel and NDRF teams were deployed on the spot. Ambulances, fire engines, and water tankers were also called there as a precaution.

The demolition was done after the Supreme Court had termed this construction in the middle of the Emerald Court Society complex as a violation of rules.

The 'Apex' (32 floors) and 'Cyan' (29 floors) towers were under construction since 2009 within the Supertech Emerald Court housing society in Sector 93A, Noida, adjacent to Delhi.

Dust generated by the explosion will remain in the air for a long time

According to experts, the dust generated by the explosion of these towers can remain in the air for many days.

Dust is likely to spread further into the air even during debris removal.

This will also spread pollution, due to which patients with respiratory problems may have to face problems.

Anti smoke guns were being used to eliminate the dust generated after the explosion.

Along with this, water sprinkling is also being done from tractors, so that the dust spread in the area can be eliminated at the earliest.

The area is still covered with dust after the twin tower explosion. It is dark in the surrounding areas.
