Lok Sabha Elections 2024: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has released its 10th candidate list for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. In this list, BJP has announced the names of a total of 9 candidates.
BJP has declared candidates from Uttar Pradesh for 7 seats, from West Bengal for 1 seat, and from Chandigarh for 1 seat.
In the elections, Jaiveer Singh Thakur has been named as the candidate from Mainpuri, Vinod Sonkar from Kaushambi, Praveen Patel from Phoolpur, Neeraj Tripathi from Allahabad, Neeraj Shekhar from Ballia, BP Saroj from Machhlishahr, and Parasnath Rai from Ghazipur.
BJP has replaced its candidates from Ballia and Allahabad. In Allahabad, Neeraj Tripathi has been fielded in place of the sitting MP, Rita Bahuguna Joshi.
From Ballia, BJP has given the ticket to Neeraj Shekhar, son of former Prime Minister Chandra Shekhar, replacing the incumbent MP, Virendra Singh Mast.
Dimple Yadav, the wife of Samajwadi Party chief and former UP CM Akhilesh Yadav, and the incumbent MP, is contesting in the electoral arena.
In this scenario, Dimple Yadav's contender will be Jaiveer Singh Thakur of the BJP, who is the Tourism Minister in the current Yogi government.
Meanwhile, Parasnath Rai will be the BJP candidate against Afzal Ansari, the brother of Mukhtar Ansari, in Ghazipur.
In addition, Sanjay Tandon has been given the ticket from Chandigarh. Kirron Kher, who won the Lok Sabha elections twice from this seat in 2014 and 2019, has been denied a ticket.
Additionally, SS Ahluwalia has been given the ticket from the Asansol constituency in West Bengal. Initially, the BJP had nominated Bhojpuri star Pawan Singh from this seat, but later he withdrew his candidature. TMC has fielded actor Shatrughan Sinha as their candidate from this constituency.
