Grenade Attack in Srinagar: On Friday, 21 August, a grenade attack took place in Srinagar’s Nishat area of Jammu and Kashmir which included 9 fatalities.
According to sources explosion happened on the bank of Dal lake near the Mughal garden.
A grenade thrown by terrorists was the modus operandi. Seven people are admitted to SKIMS hospital who received injuries.
12 kg improvised explosive devices were seized in the Tral area which could have been part of a larger terrorist plot.
Police have registered a complaint about this attack and started investigation to nab the culprits.
Police have failed the intentions of terrorists once more by catching such a colossal amount of explosives.
On Sunday, the security forces averted a major attack by destroying the improvised explosive device recovered in the district.
It is believed that a big attack has failed by the successful operation carried out by security personnel.
Security forces have received the explosive material which could be utilised for terror attacks in future that might have caused higher damage.
Pulwama being a sensitive area is often in news due to the presence of hardcore extremists and in past as well, countless times, attacks have happened including an attack on the CRPF convoy which killed several personnel.
On the other hand, an army jawan allegedly committed suicide by hanging in the Rajouri district.
According to a police officer, on August 18, an army jawan was found hanging inside an army camp in Mankote and was immediately taken to the army hospital.
However, the constable succumbed to his injuries during treatment at the hospital on Sunday. Police has started investigation in this regard.
