The results of the annual cleanliness survey conducted by the Central Government have been released. In this survey, Indore and Surat have been chosen as the cleanest cities in the country.

Meanwhile, Navi Mumbai in Maharashtra secured the third position. The President of India, Droupadi Murmu, presented awards to leading states during a program held in the capital, Delhi.

Let's take a look at the current status of other cities. It is worth mentioning that the Central Government conducts a cleanliness survey every year.

Great Performance by Maharashtra

In the Swachh Survekshan Awards 2023, organized by the Central Government to recognize states demonstrating remarkable achievements in cleanliness, Maharashtra has secured the first position in its category.

Following closely, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh have been honoured for their excellent performance.

The 2023 cleanliness survey witnessed intense competition among over 4,400 cities across various categories in the country.

Andhra Pradesh's Visakhapatnam Secures Fourth Position

Talking about other cities in the cleanliness survey, Visakhapatnam from Andhra Pradesh secured the fourth position, Bhopal (the capital of Madhya Pradesh) ranked fifth, Vijayawada from Andhra Pradesh secured the sixth position, New Delhi stood seventh, Tirupati from Andhra Pradesh secured the eighth position, Hyderabad from Telangana stood ninth, and Pune from Maharashtra secured the tenth position.

Indore Receives Award for the 7th Consecutive Time

In a noteworthy achievement, the city of Indore in Madhya Pradesh has been named the cleanest city in India for the seventh consecutive time at the Swachh Survekshan Awards 2023.

This city consistently sets new benchmarks in cleanliness each year. The award was received by MP Chief Minister Mohan Yadav. MP Cabinet Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya and Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargav of Indore also graced the occasion with their presence.
