Celebrating PM Modi's 73rd Birthday: Today, India's Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, marks his 73rd birthday. Born into poverty, PM Modi has carved a unique identity for himself on the world stage through unwavering determination.
He is not only immensely popular in India but also globally recognized. He has charted a new course for the nation and continues to lead with vision.
Born on September 17, 1950, in a middle-class family in Vadnagar, Gujarat, Narendra Modi's childhood was filled with challenges. To support his family, he had to sell tea at a railway station.
However, his patriotic spirit was unwavering, and he never lacked a deep sense of love for his country.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi commenced his political career as an ordinary worker. At the tender age of just eight, he began his journey in public service as a Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) pracharak. In 1985, Narendra Modi joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
In the year 2001, he assumed the role of the 14th Chief Minister of Gujarat. Through his remarkable work and decisions in the interest of the public, he became the first choice of the people of Gujarat.
This is why he remained in power as the Chief Minister of Gujarat from 2001 to 2014 and continues to lead, holding a special place in the hearts of the masses.
Narendra Modi has been a hard worker since his childhood days. From his childhood, Narendra Damodardas Modi had a keen interest in debates, competitions, acting, and theatre.
It was his involvement in these activities that earned him several awards and recognition.
He began his early education at Vadnagar's Bhagvaticharan School. During his school days, he was also associated with the RSS (Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh).
On multiple occasions, PM Modi has also mentioned that after school, he used to assist his father, Damodar Das Modi, in various tasks.
Due to financial constraints at home, he would sell tea with his father at a railway station. He also helped his mother, Heeraben, with household chores.
During the India-Pakistan war in 1965, he used to serve tea to the soldiers passing through the railway station. It was during this time that his passion for serving Mother India grew stronger and faster.
It was then that he decided that when he grew up, he would serve the nation.
In 1985, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took his initial steps into politics. Lal Krishna Advani, a senior leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), is often regarded as his political mentor.
Recognizing Modi's hard work and clear vision, the party entrusted him with significant responsibilities. In the years 1988-89, he was appointed as the General Secretary of the Gujarat BJP.
After that, there was no looking back for him. His remarkable contributions to the party led to his appointment as the National Secretary of the BJP in 1995.
The year 2001 marked a challenging period for Gujarat, reeling from the devastation of the Bhuj earthquake. The then Chief Minister of the state, Keshubhai Patel, had to resign from his position.
It was during this crisis that the party placed its trust in Narendra Modi, appointing him as the Chief Minister of Gujarat to lead the state through the aftermath of the disaster.
Subsequently, he gained popularity among the people of Gujarat. During his tenure as Chief Minister, Narendra Modi made significant and contentious decisions, earning both praise and criticism.
Starting from 2012, discussions about him taking on the role of India's Prime Ministerial candidate began to gain traction.
In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP, under the leadership of Narendra Modi, proved to be a game-changer. With Narendra Modi at the helm, the BJP secured 282 seats in the Lok Sabha, bringing an end to Congress's ten-year rule and marking Narendra Modi's oath-taking as the Prime Minister of India.
In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Narendra Modi achieved an even more significant victory than in 2014. The BJP won 303 seats in the Lok Sabha, reaffirming his leadership and solidifying his position as the Prime Minister once again.
Since then, Narendra Modi's list of accomplishments has been growing steadily, with new chapters added to his legacy with each passing day.
