Delhi Govt vs Centre Ordinance Row: Arvind Kejriwal, the Chief Minister of Delhi, is reaching out to the opponents of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for support in opposing the central government's ordinance regarding the transfer of officers.
As part of this effort, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader is engaging in meetings with various political leaders.
On Wednesday, June 7, there is a possibility of a meeting between Arvind Kejriwal and Akhilesh Yadav, the chief of the Samajwadi Party.
As per sources from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), the meeting between the national convenor of AAP and the national president of the Samajwadi Party (SP) is scheduled to take place in Lucknow.
Commencing his nationwide tour on May 23, Arvind Kejriwal, the national convenor of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), embarked on a mission to garner support from opposition parties against the contentious Ordinance.
During this extensive tour, Kejriwal has been actively engaging with prominent leaders across the country.
Notable figures he has met thus far include West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, former Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, Chief Minister of Telangana, K Chandrashekar Rao, Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) supremo Sharad Pawar, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, and Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav.
On May 19, the Union government introduced an ordinance to establish rules for the Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi (GNCTD) concerning matters such as "transfer posting, vigilance, and other incidental matters."
Through the introduction of this ordinance, the Government seeks to make amendments to the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi Act, 1991, thereby circumventing the Supreme Court's decision in the Centre vs Delhi case.
