Generally, the sanctum sanctorum of all the gods is in the centre of the temple and the Deities are not removed, but according to religious and popular belief, lord Jagannath goes on a tour once in a year. Wherever the Rath Yatra festival is celebrated, including Jagannath puri and Kashi. The chariot sits in the middle of the road, which becomes the sanctum sanctorum. Kashi is the only city in India where the three-day Rath Yatra Festival is celebrated.

Assembly, rituals and poojas are also performed like Puri. In Puri, the rath yatra starts from the lion's gateway to the palace of his maternal aunt at Gudicha temple, and in Kashi, the lord comes to the lion's gate of Pandit Beniram Bagh for three days. Here the Deity Deities are placed on the octagonal tine chariot with 14 wheels 20 feet wide and 18 feet long, standing in the middle of the chariot road.

The temple was established in Kashi two and a half years ago, Chairman Deepak Shapoori said that in 1780 Pt. Nityanand Kashi, the chief priest and manager of Jagannath temple in Puri, went. With the inspiration of Aradhya Dev Jagannath Ji, he established a wood deity with the image of Puri in the holy Asi region.

When the tradition came to mind, on his insistence, the Pandit family built a grand Devopam chariot according to the tradition of Puri and added the colour of the three-day Rath Yatra fair in Kashi. Since 1802, the Rath Yatra fair is being organized continuously in Kashi. This regular tradition was going on for 218 years.
