On Wednesday, West Indies' woman umpire Jacqueline Williams created history. She became the first woman to play the role of a third umpire in a men's international cricket match. Jacqueline, 43, achieved this feat during the first T20 match between the West Indies and Ireland. She will serve as the third umpire in all three matches. Jacqueline said, "It is a great honor for me. I am grateful to the ICC for this. I want more and more women umpires to come forward in the coming days. "Last month, India's GS Laxmi became the first referee to officiate in any men's match abroad.

New Zealand's retired Umpire Cathy Cross was the first female official to stand in the men's ICC tournament during the World Cricket League Division Five and Three held in Malaysia. Last month, India's GS Lakshmi became the first woman referee in the third series of the Men's Cricket World Cup League 2 in the United Arab Emirates. Earlier in May, she was also the first woman to be appointed to the ICC International Panel of Match Referees.

In April last year, Claire Polosak of Australia became the first female umpire to stand in a men's ODI match at the World Men's League Division 2 between Namibia and Oman in Windhoek, Namibia.
