Hyundai Motor India launched the Venue SUV with Intelligent Manual Transmission (IMT). The IMT option is given in two variants of Venue SX and SX (O) with 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engines. The Hyundai Venue IMT SX has priced at Rs 9.99 lakh and the Venue IMT SX (O) is priced at Rs 11.08 lakh. With this, the company has also launched the Hyundai Venue Sport model, which is priced between Rs 10.20 lakh and Rs 11.52 lakh.
The Hyundai Venue features a new Intelligent Manual Transmission (IMT) with a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine, which generates 118 bhp of power and 172 Nm of peak torque. Apart from the IMT, this engine is already available with a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. This means that there will be three types of gearbox options with this engine.
First let's understand about IMT, ie Intelligent Manual Transmission. This is a 'two-pedal, clutchless system', which can be called a hybrid system of manual and automatic gearbox setup. In this system too, the driver has to change gears manually like a conventional manual gearbox but does not require a clutch pedal while changing gears. According to Hyundai, the IMT gearbox technology uses an 'induction sensor' with a gear lever. When the driver is about to change gear, the sensor informs the transmission control unit (TCU). The TCU then signals the hydraulic actuator to engage the clutch plate and disengage and the driver changes gears.
Speaking of Hyundai Venue Sport, it has been launched in three variants SX, SX (O) and SX. It comes with 1.0-litre turbo-petrol and 1.5-liter diesel engines. Petrol engine options will be available in all three variants. With this engine, the 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission has been given in the Venue Sport's SX 0 variant and new iMT gearbox in both the other variants. The diesel engine option will be available only in the SX and SX (O) variants of the Venue Sport, with a 6-speed manual gearbox.
Venue Sport has some styling updates compared to the standard model of the Venue SUV. These include dual-tone colour scheme, sport badging, red brake callipers, gloss black front grille with red insert, dork grey roof rails with red inserts and red inserts on the veil arch and body side moulding.
Talking about the interiors, it gets dark grey upholstery, sporty metal pedals, flat-bottom steering wheels with red stitching, red stitching/piping on the upholstery and red elements for knobs.
