Negligence of doctors and nurses has also come to the fore amid the threat of corona infection. The latest case has come to light from Thane. During the vaccination campaign here on Tuesday, a nurse gave an injection of anti-rabies (dog bite injection) to a person. However, after getting information about this, on the instructions of the Health Department, the accused nurse and the doctor in charge of this campaign have been suspended.
Additional Commissioner of Thane Municipal Corporation Sandeep Malvi said that the incident is from the health center of Kalwa area of Thane. We have suspended the nurse and the doctor who administered the wrong injection of anti-rabies instead of covid injection. The whole matter is being investigated and the one who has been vaccinated has been kept under the supervision of doctors.
Sandeep Malvi told that Rajkumar Yadav had come to the health center to get the dose of the Covishield vaccine. But by mistake, he got into the queue where an anti-rabies injection was given. At the same time, the nurse of the health center, Kirti Popre, administered the injection without seeing the case paper of Rajkumar Yadav. Sandeep further said that it was the duty of the nurse to examine the case paper of the patient before administering the vaccine.
Similar negligence had come to the fore in Uttar Pradesh's Shamli last March. Here 3 women were injected with anti-rabies injection instead of the corona vaccine injection. The matter came to light after the health of one of these 70-year-old women deteriorated. All three women were over 60 years of age.
