Social networking site Facebook has removed 15 fake accounts associated with Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro. Facebook said on Wednesday that it had deleted many accounts related to the supporters or employees of Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro as part of an investigation into spreading false online news.
Head of Facebook's cybersecurity policy, Nathaniel Gleicher has said in a statement that Facebook had removed 73 accounts and Instagram accounts, 14 pages and one group. However, Brazilian courts are currently investigating the spread of false news in relation to the president.

Gleicher further said that Facebook had earlier taken down some of the content posted by these fake accounts for violation of its community standards.
Gleicher said that Facebook has removed approximately 8,83,000 accounts one or more of the Bolsonaro's linked pages and one of 9,17,000 additional Instagram accounts.
