Cricket Australia Chairman Earl Eddings said that holding T20 World Cup this year seems very difficult. In a video conference, Eddings said on Tuesday that the whole world is battling against Coronavirus so holding a T20 World Cup this year is 'Unrealistic'.  In such a situation, it will be a challenge to bring all 16 teams at one place for the World Cup. Let us tell you that Australia will host the T20 World Cup this year from 18 October to 15 November. The decision on the tournament will be taken at the International Cricket Council (ICC) meeting to be held next month.

Eddings said, "This year World Cup seems difficult. However, no official announcement of the postponement or cancellation of the tournament has been made yet. We are trying our best to bring teams from 16 countries to Australia. Even now, there are many countries where corona cases are increasing. In such a situation it is difficult to have a World Cup. "

Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison made an important announcement on 12 June regarding the return of the Games to the country. He had said that 25% of the spectators would be allowed to visit the stadium from next month. After this decision, expectations for the T20 World Cup had increased, but Eddings' statement has again increased suspense.

IPL is possible instead of World Cup:

If the T20 World Cup is postponed this year, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) can hold the Indian Premier League (IPL). At the moment, the IPL has already been postponed indefinitely due to Corona.

Safety and health of players most important: ICC

ICC CEO Manu Sawhney said after the meeting on June 10, "We will get only one chance to decide on the tournament. We will continue to consult our members, broadcasters, governments, and players to make the right decision."
