Starbucks has said that longtime PepsiCo executive Laxman Narasimhan will join Starbucks on October 1, 2022, after moving from London to Seattle. Because Starbucks is based in Seattle. Laxman Narasimhan will work with Starbucks Interim CEO Howard Schultz until April 1, 2023. Thereafter, Laxman will adopt his CEO role and join the company's board.

Narasimhan had served as CEO of PepsiCo's Latin America, Europe, and Sub-Saharan Africa operations. Narasimhan was a senior partner at the consulting firm McKinsey & Company, where he focused his consumer, retail, and technology practices in the US, Asia, and India.
