Mukesh Ambani, Chairman and Managing Director of Reliance Industries, stated on Monday that Reliance Jio will launch standalone 5G services in chosen locations throughout the country by Diwali (October 24). Jio has pledged a total investment of Rs 2 lakh crore to develop a pan-India genuine 5G network.
To begin, Jio announced the rollout of 5G services in four major cities: Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Chennai.
These will be swiftly spread to neighboring cities and villages, eventually covering the whole country by December 2023.
Mukesh Ambani stated at the 'Reliance AGM 2022' that it will be the 'world's largest, 'standalone' Jio 5G services.
"With the finest quality and cost, Jio 5G services will link everyone, everywhere, and everything." "We are determined to make India a data-driven economy that is even ahead of China and the United States," Mukesh Ambani stated.
Jio 5G will be the largest and most sophisticated 5G network in the world. Unlike other carriers, Jio's 5G network would be self-contained, with no reliance on the 4G network.
Jio 5G will be able to provide an unequaled combination of coverage, capacity, quality, and cost due to its three-fold advantage of standalone 5G architecture, the largest and best mix of the spectrum, and Carrier Aggregation technology.
Reliance Jio Infocomm Chairman Akash Ambani stated that Jio 5G will bring unprecedented gains in internet speed and substantially decrease latency.
The declaration is consistent with the government's expectation that inexpensive 5G services will be available throughout the country by October 12.
