Simple Energy today (27 December) has announced to increase the price of Simple Dot One electric scooter by Rs 40 thousand in the Indian market. Now this electric scooter will be available at a price of Rs 1.40 lakh (Bengaluru, ex-showroom).

The Bengaluru-based electric two-wheeler manufacturer launched the e-scooter on December 15 at an introductory price of Rs 99,999 (Bengaluru, ex-showroom). This price was only for existing customers who had pre-booked Simple One.

New customers will be able to book Simple.One from the official website from January 27, 2024 by paying a token money of Rs 1947. The delivery of the scooter will start first in Bengaluru. After this, it will be delivered in different phases in other cities.

The company has updated the powertrain of this scooter. The Bengaluru-based electric 2-wheeler manufacturer claims that this scooter will give a range of 151 kilometers on a single full charge. This is the company's second electric scooter in India after Simple One. It will compete with Ola S1 Air and Ather 450S.

Simply.One: Design and Platform

Simple.One has been developed on the platform of Simple One. In terms of features and design, the scooter is similar to the Simple One, mechanical changes have been made in it.

The scooter is available in single variant and four color options Namma Red, Brazen Black, Grace White and Azure Blue. However, the company is also offering LiteX and BrazenX color options as an introductory offer.

Simple Dot One: Performance, Battery and Range

For performance, the scooter has been fitted with an electric motor, which generates power of 8.5 kW and torque of 72nm. Simple Energy claims that the Dot One can accelerate from 0 to 40 kmph in just 2.7 seconds. Its top speed is 105 kmph.

To power the motor in Simple Dot One, a 3.7 kWh battery pack has been provided. The company claims that on full charge the scooter gives a range of 151 km (ARAI certified). Apart from this, Simple said that the tire of Dot One is different from the regular One, which helps in increasing its efficiency.

Simple Dot One: Hardware

For comfort riding, the scooter has been provided with adjustable monoshock suspension in the front forks and rear. At the same time, for braking, disc brakes are available with CBS on both its wheels. The scooter has 12-inch alloy wheels with tubeless tyres. There is also a 35-litre storage space under the seat for storing luggage.

Simple Dot One: Features

The scooter has a 7-inch TFT display, runs on Android OS with turn-by-turn navigation, Bluetooth connectivity, battery and range infographics, call alerts and OTA updates. Music can be controlled along with navigation from the display. It has four different riding modes – Eco, Ride, Dash and Sonic. It also has the facility of app connectivity to operate other features.
