Mercedes-Benz India has launched the new Grand Edition of the AMG G63 in India at a starting price of Rs 4 crore (ex-showroom).

The company will produce only one thousand units of the car to sell globally. Of these, only 25 units will go on sale in India. Mercedes-Benz has said that only those customers who already own the company's Maybach, S-Class and Mercedes-AMG will be able to buy this luxury SUV.

Mercedes-Benz will start deliveries of the special edition of the luxury SUV from the first quarter next year. In the Indian market, the car will compete with Land Rover's Range Rover, which comes at a starting price of Rs 2.38 crore (ex-showroom).

Mercedes AMG G63 Grand Edition: Exterior

The AMG G63 Grand Edition has been introduced with some cosmetic changes to the standard model. The car's exterior is highlighted in a Kalahari Gold Magno shade, reminiscent of the first G model from 1979. Apart from this, a special Night Black Magno color option is also available in the limited edition model.

For the first time, the company has given AMG logo and Mercedes three-pointed star in Kalahari Gold Magno in a Grand Edition model. Apart from this, the vehicle also gets gold inlay in the front and rear bumpers, optical underride protection in the front, Mercedes star in the spare wheel inlay and spare wheel ring. The SUV rides on 22-inch AMG alloy wheels which are painted gold with matte black central locking nut and a Mercedes star.

Mercedes AMG G63 Grand Edition: Interior

The interior of the car has been treated in black and golden color. The black door frames feature 'AMG' signs and welcoming lighting borders. The seats are made of black leather with golden colored stitches. Golden AMG logos and gold-edged strips are fitted into the backrests. The floor mats are also designed in black color with golden stitches.

The roof handle is made of leather. Grand Edition badging is done on the passenger side grab handle. Other trim parts of the interior are finished in carbon with copper thread.

Mercedes-Benz AMG G63 Grand Edition: Performance

The G63 Grand Edition has a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine like the regular AMG G63, which generates maximum power of 577 hp and peak torque of 850 Nm. Talking about transmission, the engine is tuned with a 9-speed automatic gearbox.

The car is equipped with the brand's 4Matic all-wheel drive system which supplies power to all four wheels. The company claims that the AMG G63 can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 4.5 seconds and its top speed is 220 kmph.
