As the winter is increasing in the country, the fog is also increasing in the same way. Due to the fog, not only the normal life but also the bus, train and air services are getting delayed.
Especially those travelling long distances are facing the most trouble. In such a situation, if your train gets late due to fog, then you can also take a full refund instead of your ticket.
According to the rules of Indian Railways, if your train is delayed by more than 3 hours due to fog or any other reason, then you can take a full refund instead.
A full refund is given in such cases. Also, you do not have to pay any kind of charge. For this, you have to try two methods.
First of all, if you are waiting for the train at the railway station and you have also got the ticket done from the railway counter, then you can cancel your ticket by going to the ticket window there and get the refund immediately.
But if you have bought the ticket online, then you will have to follow the entire process by visiting the website to get it cancelled.
First of all, login to your IRCTC account by visiting the online website or app. After this you login to My Account. Here go to My Transaction by going to the option and click on File TDR.
From here you can choose your ticket and file TDR and if your claim is found to be correct then your full money will be refunded.
In case the train is cancelled, there is no need to file TDR. IRCTC processes the refunds automatically.
