Railways are going to provide Handheld Terminal-HHT to TT for premium, mail, and express trains, this has already started. Vacant berths from the HHT device will be automatically confirmed by waiting or RAC number and category-wise.

Indian Railways had given the HHT device to TTE in some premium trains Rajdhani, Shatabdi under the pilot project. This pilot project was successful. Passengers are automatically confirmed in the moving train after waiting or after the preparation of the RAC ticket chart. A ticket confirmation message also reached him. Seeing the success of HHT, Indian Railways has given 5850 HHT devices to TT in 559 trains.

Railways plans to gradually introduce premium trains to all mail express trains. According to the information received from Northern Railway, this facility has started from New Delhi to Agra Cantt and from Agra Cantt to New Delhi 14211/12. Apart from this, this facility has also been started in train number 12279 and 12280 Taj Express going from New Delhi to MP i.e. Veerangana Lakshmibai of Madhya Pradesh.

The HHT device with the TTE in the train will be connected to the Internet

As soon as TTE will mark vacant berths in any category. The PRS of railway stations as soon as it is registered in HHT will be registered on the IRCTC website.

Along with this, first of all, waiting or RAC tickets on the train will automatically get confirmed in the order of the starting number. If the berths remain vacant even after getting confirmed, train tickets can be booked at en-route stations or online. Till now such berths were vacant.

Along with this, information about passengers on the waiting list or passengers in canceled mode will also be available through HHT digital devices. If the PNR is forgotten in some way, then the details of the passengers will be available in the name of the passenger as well.

These machines are connected to the main server of the train passenger reservation system. The information of doctors and VIP passengers traveling in the coach will also be on the machine. In the future, online payment can also be taken through this machine.
