Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has launched its new Smart Activa in India. In the program held in Mumbai, the company has introduced this new generation scooter with smart key. It also gets features like anti theft alarm and keyless engine start/stop. Also, many features of the scooter can be operated with the smart key.
The company has launched the Activa H-Smart in the Indian market with three trim (variants) and 6 color options. The ex-showroom price of the standard variant of the Activa has been kept at Rs 74,536, the ex-showroom price of the deluxe variant has been kept at Rs 77,036 and the price of the smart key with alloy wheel variant has been kept at Rs 80,537. It has been given Decent Blue, Rebel Red Metallic, Matte Axis Gray Metallic, Black, Pearl Precious White and Pearl Siren Blue color options. It competes with TVS Jupiter and Hero Maestro. The company has said that the new Activa will be available for sale by the end of January.
The Honda Activa is powered by the H-Smart's 109.51 cc single-cylinder, air-cooled FI engine as per the emission norms. This engine generates power of 5.73 Bhp and torque of 8.84 Nm. The company has claimed a 10% increase in the mileage of the scooter. Honda has said that this engine meets the new emission norms.
Smart Safe (Anti Theft System): Smart key can be controlled to protect the scooter. The vehicle will be unlocked when the smart key comes within a range of 2 meters and the vehicle will lock automatically when the smart key is away from this range.
Smart Find: To locate the scooter in a congested area or in a parking lot, all four indicators will start blinking when you press the answer back button on the smart key. This feature can function from a distance of 10 meters from the vehicle.
Smart Unlock: With the Honda Smart Key, you don't need to keep the keys handy. When the smart key is within 2 meter range of the Activa, you can unlock your seat, fuel cap and various operation knobs like handle lock/unlock by pushing and rotating.
Smart Start: Now the key is not required to start the ride of the vehicle. Once the key is within 2 meters of the Activa, the LED smart key indicator on the speedometer will turn on with just the press of the knob. Then just turn the knob with the start/stop switch to switch on the ignition and start the engine.
This new generation Activa H-Smart will get silent start system and a combined braking system like the standard variant. In this, alloy wheels have been brought with a new design. The scooter gets features like telescopic front forks, single-rear spring and drum brakes on both the wheels. However, not much change is seen in terms of design.
