Pakistan Cricket Board CEO Wasim Khan has said that Asia Cup will be held this year in either Sri Lanka or in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) according to a predetermined schedule. Khan dismissed speculations that the Asia Cup could be canceled for the currently suspended Indian Premier League (IPL) event.

Wasim Khan said at the press conference, 'Asia Cup will be held. Pakistan's team will return from England on September 2 and we can organize the tournament in September or October. Some things will be clear at the right time. We expect the Asia Cup to be held as there are not many cases of coronavirus in Sri Lanka. If they cannot organize it then the UAE is ready.'

PCB considering to play series in October-November, If T20 World Cup is not Held: Wasim Khan

Let us tell you that Pakistan has to host this year's Asia Cup. Khan said that Pakistan has agreed to hold the Asia Cup in Sri Lanka in exchange for the next regional competition. He also confirmed that Pakistan Cricket Board is working on options to play the cricket series in October-November in case the T20 World Cup is not held.

Khan further said, 'We have to go to New Zealand tour in December and host Zimbabwe before that. South Africa is set to visit Pakistan in January-February for two or three Tests and some T20 matches.

Mohammad Hafeez's second report came negative:

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced a day earlier that former captain Mohammad Hafeez has tested 'positive' for the COVID-19. Hafeez and Wahab Riaz are among the ten players selected in the squad for the England tour, whose tests for the COVID-19 were 'positive' on Tuesday. The team is scheduled to leave for England on Sunday for a series of Tests and T20 matches.

On Wednesday, Pakistani cricketer Mohammad Hafeez made it clear on Twitter that he and his family members tested 'negative' and had also posted a medical report to prove his claim. He tweeted, 'After Tested positive COVID-19 acc to PCB testing Report yesterday,as 2nd opinion & for satisfaction, I personally went to Test it again along with my family and here I along with my all family members are reported Negative Alham du Lillah. May Allah keep us all safe.'
