Police bus crashed near the Ishwar Colony outpost on Chandigarh Road late Monday night when a high speed bus coming from the private company from Chandigarh blew up the police station. The uncontrollable bus overturned after hitting the barricades in the barrier and collided with the police vehicles parked there. A young man aboard the bus died after being buried under the bus.

The deceased has been identified as Rajesh Sharma, resident of Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh. Punjab Police ASI Jaswinder Singh and his partner Mulajim were also injured in the accident. After receiving the information, the police officer and police of the police station focal point reached the spot. Police has registered a case against bus driver Shingara Singh.

According to the people on the bus, the private company bus was coming from Chandigarh to Ludhiana. People allege that the bus driver had drunk alcohol and was driving a very fast bus. The riders interrupted him several times on the way, but he did not. When the bus reached Ishwar Colony, there was a police barrier. The bus driver blew the barricades instead of stopping the bus.

The police personnel standing there barely saved their lives. After breaking the barricades, the bus collided with the police car parked there. ASI Jaswinder Singh and two men standing near the car were injured in the collision. The bus then overturned uncontrollably, hitting the private vehicle. When people straightened the bus in some way, Rajesh was pressed under it.

He was admitted to a nearby private hospital, where he died. Outpost incharge ASI Surjit Singh said that the police personnel had received minor injuries, but Rajesh, who was injured in the bus, was killed in the accident. A case has been registered against the accused driver Shingara Singh. His search is on.
