Nirbhaya case: President Ram Nath Kovind Dismisses Mercy Plea of ​​Fourth Convict Pawan

The mercy petition of Pawan Gupta, the fourth convict in the Nirbhaya gang rape case, has also been rejected by President Ram Nath Kovind. The mercy petition of the remaining three accused has already been dismissed. Earlier on Monday, the Patiala House Court had stayed the execution of all the accused of the Nirbhaya gang rape murder. All the culprits were to be hanged on the morning of March 3. The hanging of culprits postponed by the Patiala House Court because the mercy petition of one of the convicts, Pawan, was pending with the President. But on Wednesday, the President has rejected the plea of ​​fourth convict Pawan Gupta. In such a situation, all the options before hanging are over for the culprits.

This was the third time when the hanging of convicts has been postponed. Let us know that the date of hanging was first fixed on 22 January. After this, the date of hanging was fixed on 1 February. However, the lawyer for the convicts got it canceled by applying legal stipulation.

After postponing the execution on Monday, Nirbhaya's mother Asha Devi attacked the system. She told the news agency ANI that it shows the failure of the system. She had said, 'Why is the court taking so much time to follow its own order to hang the culprits. Our entire system protects criminals.

Four convicts of the case – Mukesh Singh, Akshay Kumar Singh, Pawan Kumar Gupta have been sentenced to death by the court. Two other convicts in the case – Ram Singh committed suicide in jail while a minor was released from the correctional home after a three-year sentence.
