Indonesia Shakes with 6.9 magnitude earthquake, Tsunami Warning Lifted

The fear of a strong earthquake created an atmosphere of fear in Indonesia. Earthquake tremors were felt in the southwest of Sumatra at around 5:30 pm. The magnitude 6.9 on the Richter scale of this earthquake has been measured. At the same time, a tsunami warning was also issued, but now this warning has been lifted there.

The earthquake came in a depth of 42 kilometers away from Labuan, about 150 kilometers from the capital of Jakarta, which was measured at 6.8 on the Richter Scale. Local people got confused by the earthquake and came out of their homes with fear. At present, a tsunami warning had been issued there, but it was lifted after 3 hours.

Earlier, according to the Indonesian disaster agency, a magnitude 7.5 magnitude earthquake shook 147 kilometers from Sanur in the south-west region of the capital, which was 10 kilometers deep.

A few days back, two people were killed and thousands of people were affected due to a 7.3 magnitude earthquake in Maluku Islands of eastern Indonesia. However, in the last year, there were 7.5 magnitude earthquakes in Sulawesi Island and more than 2 thousand people were killed in the tsunami that followed. A large number of people had also gone missing.
