College Student Commits Suicide in Hostel Room

A college student in Andhra Pradesh committed suicide in his hostel room. The student who committed suicide was studying in the inter first year. This incident is of a junior college in Krishna district. The student committed suicide in his hostel room at the college on Tuesday.

According to Bhawanipuram police, the student was not identified as Gatla Ramanjaneya Reddy, son of auto driver Shivakoti Reddy of Tadepalli village in Guntur district, on Tuesday. When his friends and hostel staff reached the hostel to meet him, his room was found closed. According to police, when the staff broke the door, he was found hanging from the ceiling fan.

The hostel staff then admitted the student to a hospital in Gollapudi, Andhra Pradesh, where doctors declared him dead. Subsequently, the college management informed the student's parents and the police. The body of the student has been sent for postmortem and a case has been registered under Section 174 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (suspicious death). Circle Inspector Mohan Reddy of Bhawanipuram Police Station is investigating the case.
