8 Months Pregnant Woman Dies in Road Mishap

A 22-year-old woman who was about 8 months pregnant died on the spot while her husband sustained injury after the motorbike collided with a speeding truck coming on the wrong side from the opposite direction on Nanta Road under Kunhari Police Station area of Kota City on Sunday.

"The victim was identified as Mata Meghwal a resident of Vikasnagar Goverdhanpura area," ASI at Kunhari police station Yogesh Kumar said. The women's husband Identified as Mahavir Bhim Singh (MBS) Hospital, where he is undergoing medical treatment.

"The deceased woman was 8 months pregnant and the baby also came out of the womb dead after the mishap," the ASI added. The Body of the woman and the fetus were handed over to the family members after the post-mortem of the former.

Police have lodged a case under various relevant sections of IPC against the truck driver who succeeded to flee from the spot with his vehicle after the mishap. The effort is under to nab him.
