PM Modi Arrives to Attend Conference of Directors of Police

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has arrived in Pune to participate in the National Conference of Directors General and Inspector Generals of Police Forces, which lasts till December 8. The Prime Minister arrived at Pune airport on Friday night. There the Chief Minister of Maharashtra and Shiv Sena Chief Uddhav Thackeray came to welcome Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Uddhav met the Prime Minister for the first time yesterday after becoming the Chief Minister.

Prime Minister Modi was accompanied by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari and former CM and now Leader of the Opposition Devendra Fadnavis. The Prime Minister will be attended by top officials of state police forces, central investigative agencies, information agencies and central armed police forces in this three-day conference. PM Modi will discuss internal security issues with top officials at the event. This conference is being organized in the campus of Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Pune.

A senior police officer said that the Union Home Ministry conducts this conference every year. This conference was earlier held in Delhi but it is held in different cities every year during PM Modi's tenure. Last year, this conference was held in Kevadia, Gujarat. It is known that the Shiv Sena of BJP and Uddhav Thackeray had broken their 30-year-old relationship between the political upsurge in Maharashtra. Uddhav was sworn in as the chief minister on November 28 amidst all political movements. It is worth noting that Uddhav Thackeray had also invited PM Modi to attend the swearing-in ceremony for the post of CM but he did not go.
