Shivani Alakh

On the resumption of the Kashmir issue by US President Donald Trump, the Foreign Ministry spokesman, Ravish Kumar said that our position on the mediation of any third party on the Kashmir issue has been very clear. We want to make it clear again that there is no need for any third party to interfere in this matter.

Ravish Kumar said that if there are any bilateral issues between India and Pakistan that need to be discussed, it will be done by the two countries only under the provisions of the Simla Agreement and the Lahore Declaration. But before doing so, Pakistan will have to create a favorable environment.

He said that if Pakistan wants peaceful relations with India then it will have to create a conducive environment for it. Why Pakistan is not able to take action against terrorist organizations. We always feel that he is making such a statement to trick the international fraternity. Pakistan should desist from such rhetoric.

Ravish Kumar said that FATF meeting is going to be held in Paris from 16 February. We think the FATF will look at the steps taken by Pakistan on terrorism. In the last plenary meeting, the FATF had expressed great concern about Pakistan. The way Pakistan is financing terrorism is a matter of concern. Now the members of the FATF have to see what the Imran government has done to shut it down.
