Domestic Gas Cylinder Prices Rise from New Year

On the very first day of the beginning of the new year, customers have suffered a setback of inflation. Non-subsidized domestic gas cylinders have become expensive since 1 January 2020. In metros, its price has increased up to Rs 21.50. In metros, 14.2 kg Indane gas has become expensive by Rs 22. According to the website of the Indian Oil Corporation, the 14.2-kg LPG cylinder costs Rs 714 in Delhi, Rs 747 in Kolkata, Rs 684.50 in Mumbai and Rs 734 in Chennai. LPG gas cylinder price has increased for the fifth consecutive month.

In December, the price of 14.2 kg domestic gas was Rs 695 in Delhi, Rs 725.50 in Kolkata, Rs 665 in Mumbai and Rs 714 in Chennai. LPG cylinders became cheaper by about Rs 62 in the month of August. After that, the price increased every month. Domestic gas has become costlier by around Rs 140 since August.

At the same time, the price of 19 kg cylinder has also increased by about Rs 33. From January 1, the price of this cylinder is Rs 1241 in Delhi, Rs 1308.50 in Kolkata, Rs 1190 in Mumbai and Rs 1363 in Chennai. The price of 19 kg cylinder in December was Rs 1211.50 in Delhi, Rs 1275.50 in Kolkata, Rs 1160.50 in Mumbai and Rs 1333 in Chennai.
