Akash Singh

Indian veteran Rohan Bopanna has been ruled out of the upcoming Davis Cup tie against Pakistan due to a shoulder injury. After this, Jeevan Neduchezhian can get a place in the team. Bopanna, after conducting an MRI scan on Monday, made his decision known to the team's non-playing captain Rohit Rajpal. Bopanna was expected to pair up with legendary Leander Paes for the matches against Pakistan on 29 and 30 November.

Rajpal said, "It is disappointing not to have Rohan in the team. We want him to take care of his shoulder. He need injections for treatment. We have a player as good as Jeevan as his substitute. His arrival will make a good pair of right and left handed players". Bopanna is the top doubles player and with his departure, the country will have to hit the court in the absence of the top two players in the doubles. Divij Sharan is already out of the team due to marriage.
