The bail plea of former Karnataka minister and senior Congress leader DK Shivakumar, accused in the Money laundering case, has been dismissed. Hearing the petition of DK Shivakumar on Wednesday, the special court of Rouse Avenue Court rejected the bail application.

Opposing DK Shivakumar's plea, the Enforcement Directorate in the special court at Rouse Avenue in Delhi had said that Shivkumar's health was not good. In this case, the inquiry could not be completed. Therefore, he should be sent to judicial custody and permission to be interrogated there as well.

DK Shivakumar's lawyers had said in court that health was not good and a heart attack could occur anytime. In such a situation, Shivkumar should be given bail. The court, however, postponed the debate on bail application for Wednesday and ordered Sivakumar to be sent to judicial custody.

DK Shivakumar was arrested on September 3 and was on remand since then. The ED filed a money laundering case only after a search operation by the Income Tax Department at several of their locations. Shivkumar has also filed an application in the Delhi High Court on Tuesday demanding a copy of his statement.
