The Citizenship Amendment Bill 2019 has been approved by President Ram Nath Kovind, but the bill has been refused to be implemented by the Chief Ministers of Punjab, Kerala and West Bengal.

Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh has called the cab wrong. He said that Punjab will not implement this bill in any situation in his state. At the same time, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has also opposed this bill. He opposed the bill, saying that the bill is unconstitutional.
