Kerala: 5 ISRO Employees Died in Truck-Car Collision in Alappuzha

A painful accident took place in Ambalapuzha in the Alappuzha district of Kerala. At least five people died in this accident.

Four of them died on the spot and one person died during treatment at a hospital, police said.

According to police, the car in which they were travelling collided with a Thiruvananthapuram-bound lorry near Ambalapuzha.

Deceased used to work in the canteen of ISRO

According to the police, the incident took place around 1.30 am on Monday i.e. Jan 23. A lorry carrying rice collided with a car going towards Thiruvananthapuram.

The victims have been identified as Prasad, Shiju, Amal, Sachin and Sumod.

All were employees at the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) canteen in Thiruvananthapuram.

Four of them were from Thiruvananthapuram and one from the Kollam district.

The bodies of the deceased have been sent for post-mortem to Alappuzha Medical College Hospital.

The lorry driver and his helper have been taken into police custody. The investigation into the cause of the accident continues.
