Akash Singh

Now the first match of the series against West Indies will be played on 6 December in Hyderabad and the last match in Mumbai on 11 December. The first match of the first series was to be played in Mumbai on December 6, but the same day is also the anniversary of the Babri Masjid demolition and the 'Mahaparinirvan Diwas' (anniversary) of Bhimrao Ambedkar, the creator of the Constitution. In view of this, the Mumbai Police expressed its inability to provide security. On this day millions of Ambedkar's supporters come to memorial situated in Dadar.

A BCCI official said on condition of confidentiality, "BCCI has agreed to exchange venue for matches played in Mumbai (December 6) and Hyderabad (December 11)." We have done this after getting the consent of Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) President Mohammad Azharuddin. Another source said that HCA President and former Indian captain Azharuddin played a key role in the venue swap, otherwise the match could have been snatched from Mumbai.
