Jofra Archer Ruled Out of International Cricket for the Rest of 2021

The hosts England have suffered a major setback during the five-match Test series being played against India. Team's fast bowler Jofra Archer has been ruled out of the international cricket for the entire year after a recurrence of a stress fracture of his right elbow.  The England Cricket Board gave an update on Thursday. This bowler, who was out of the ongoing Test series played against India, is now difficult to return to the Ashes series as well.

Archer will also not be a part of the team in the ICC T20 World Cup to be played in UAE to be hosted by India. Archer has also been ruled out of the most important Ashes series between England and Australia. Apart from all this, he will also not be able to participate in BCCI's domestic T20 competition Indian Premier League.

ECB issued a statement in this regard:

In a press release, the ECB said, "The England and Wales Cricket Board can confirm that England fast bowler Jofra Archer underwent further scans on his injured right elbow last week. The scans revealed that he has suffered a recurrence of a stress fracture of his right elbow. In response to these findings, he has been ruled out for the rest of the year. He will miss the current LV Insurance Test series against India. The ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2021 and the Ashes series in Australia."

England, who are currently playing India in the five-match Test series, will not be available for the entire series. He will not feature in this year's T20 World Cup in the UAE and Oman, later this year. Besides missing the Ashes Down Under, where he was supposed to be the team's X-factor, on some flat wickets.
