Indian Women Team Clean-Sweeps West Indies by 5-0 in T20 Series

The Indian women's cricket team continues to perform well. In the last match of the T20 series, India defeated host West Indies by 61 runs and gave them a clean sweep in the series. While batting first, India scored 134 runs at the loss of 3 wickets in the scheduled 20 overs. The West Indies team managed to score just 73 runs for 7 wickets in front of India's tight bowling.

With this match being won, India eliminated the West Indies in the 5-match T20 series. The Indian team, which won five consecutive matches in the series, made it 5–0. The Indian women also won 2–1 in the ODI series. Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur won the toss and decided to bat first. India did not have a good start and the opening pair came back early. The young sensation Shefali Verma scored 9 and Smriti Mandhana could only score 7 runs. After this Jemima Rodriguez and Veda Krishnamurthy handled the innings and carried the team's score. Jemima scored 50 off 56 balls while Veda scored 57 off 48 balls. Jemima hit 3 fours during the innings while Veda hit a total of 4 boundaries.

The West Indies team could manage to score only 73 runs in 20 overs. Tight bowling was seen from the Indian side. Anuja Patil took the most two wickets. For India, Radha Yadav, Poonam Yadav, Pooja Vastrakar and Harleen Deol took 1-1 wickets. India won the first match of the five-match T20 series by 84 runs, while the second match was won by 10-wickets. The third match was won by India by 7 wickets, and in the fourth match, the Indian team won by 5 wickets. Winning the last match by 61 runs, India captured the series by 5–0.
