India vs England – 1st Test: India at 97/1 till Lunch, Trail by 86 Runs

The first match of the 5-match Test series between India and England is being played at Trent Bridge. On day 2, India had scored 97 runs in the first innings for the loss of one wicket till lunch break. At present, Lokesh Rahul is at the crease after scoring 48 runs. In reply to England's 183 runs, the Indian team is still trailing by 86 runs behind.

Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma was dismissed for 36 runs in the last over (37.2) before lunch. Before this, Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul shared 97 runs partnership for the first wicket. This is India's biggest opening partnership against South Africa, England, New Zealand and Australia (SENA) in the last 10 years.

Team India resumed day 2 play on 21 runs. On the first day, Rohit Sharma remained unbeaten on 9 runs and Lokesh Rahul scored 9 runs. England have lost 2 of their 3 reviews on the second day. At the same time, Team India still has 3 reviews left.

Earlier, the bowlers of Team India performed brilliantly. Batting first after winning the toss, captain Joe Root scored 64 runs for England. Fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah took 4 wickets for India. Mohammed Shami took 3 wickets, Shardul Thakur took 2 and Mohammad Siraj took 1 wicket.
