Big Bash League: Tom Banton Smashes Brilliant Half Century in Just 16 Balls

On Monday, England's batsman Tom Banton smashes 5 sixes in 5 consecutive balls during his brilliant innings in the Big Bash League (BBL) being played in Australia. 21-year-old opener Tom Banton started the innings with Captain Chris Lynn in a rain-interrupted match against Sydney Thunder. In this match of 8-8 overs, Tom Banton started hitting sixes from the very first ball of the match. Playing for his team Brisbane Heat, he rained sixes in a row from the second to the sixth ball in the fourth over of the innings.

Tom Banton tried to reverse sweep on the first ball of Arjun Nair's over, but did not score. However, after this, Tom Banton hit 5 sixes in next consecutive balls and completed his half-century in just 16 balls. This is the second fastest fifty in the history of the Big Bash League which has come in so few balls. However, Tom Banton was dismissed for 56 runs off 19 balls. In this innings, he hit 2 fours and 7 sixes.

Due to Rain, the match was reduced to just 8 overs, in which the Brisbane Heat team, batting first, scored 119 runs in 8 overs losing 4 wickets on the back of innings of Tom Banton and Captain Chris Lynn. Chris Lynn scored 31 runs in 13 balls. Apart from these, Max Bryant scored 12 runs in 4 balls. At the same time, rain interrupted again during the second innings, which became a problem for the Sydney team.
