The issue of attachment of assets of Shiv Sena's Rajya Sabha MP and spokesperson Sanjay Raut was raised by Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) supremo Sharad Pawar during his conversation with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Pawar said that the ED's action against Sanjay Raut is unfair. Their property has been confiscated illegally.

Sharad Pawar meets PM Modi at the Parliament House

Sharad Pawar gave this information to the media after meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Parliament House. He said that I spoke to Prime Minister Modi about the action of the ED (Enforcement Directorate). He said that if the central agency takes action in this way, then it will have to take responsibility for it as well. This action has been taken against Sanjay Raut only because he speaks against the government.

The NCP chief said that it is the responsibility of the government not to let the people feel that they are being sidelined or neglected. When we meet in private, such issues have never been raised. He said that the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government will be formed again in the next assembly elections.

Sharad Pawar's reaction on becoming the leader of UPA

When reporters asked Sharad Pawar whether he would lead the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) in the next Lok Sabha elections, the NCP chief said, "I have repeatedly said that I am not interested in becoming the chairman of the UPA."

Sharad Pawar meets PM Modi on Wednesday

Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday as central agencies intensify investigations against the leaders of the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA). Pawar stayed with Modi in the Prime Minister's Office in Parliament for about 20 minutes. The meeting took place on a day when the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had detained former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh.

Deshmukh arrested by CBI

Former Maharashtra minister Anil Deshmukh was detained by CBI team from Arthur Road Jail in central Mumbai and arrested in connection with the corruption charges levelled against him by former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Tuesday attached properties worth over Rs 11.15 crore of Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut's wife and two of his associates in a money-laundering probe related to some land deals.
