Ashraf Ghani, the former President of Afghanistan, maybe in trouble. The US is going to investigate allegations of carrying cash by the former President of Afghanistan while fleeing from Kabul. In fact, it was said in the Russian Embassy in Kabul and some media reports that Ghani had taken away cash in a helicopter while fleeing from the country on 15 August. According to reports, the cash amount was so high that when she did not come in the helicopter, she was dropped at the airport itself. However, Ghani, who lives in the UAE, had denied the allegations. He had said – I had brought only clothes with me. Along with Ghani, some of his very close people also left Kabul.

Demand for investigation was raised in the US Parliament

There was a demand in the US Parliament to investigate the allegation of Ghani running away with cash. On this, John Sopko, MP and chairman of the Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction (SIGAR), had said – Ghani has run away with cash, it has not been proved yet. Now the same committee is going to investigate this matter. Ghani's bank accounts will be searched.

Investigate misappropriation of funds

Sopco said allegations of long-term wastage of funds and misappropriation in Afghanistan were also being investigated. The funds are given by the US in 20 years for the reconstruction of Afghanistan. It is important to know whether they were used unnecessarily before the Taliban took over.

Ghani had fled from Kabul on August 15

Ghani fled the country on 15 August after the Taliban captured Kabul. However, a few days later he appeared in front of the world, refusing the allegations against him. Said- I did not run away with any cash. There was a danger to life. So, had to leave the country.
